Taylor Swift’s second surprise album of 2020 is #1 on the UK Official Charts. Evermore is followed by several classic Christmas albums and compilations, and though I wouldn’t call Evermore festive or cheery, it has secured its place at the top despite the coming holiday.

A Columbus nightclub received a citation last weekend after not following the state’s Covid-19 orders. The club, called Aftermath, reportedly hosted a concert for Trey Songz, which more than 500 people attended.

The new versions of the music is significant because Swift will own it, as opposed to her masters, which were sold to Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings without her knowledge. Spotify has announced a partnership with National Independent Venue Association, the organization behind the #SaveOurStages campaign and supporters of the Save Our Stages Act. Spotify has stepped in to support NIVA in two ways. First, they donated half a million dollars to NIVA Emergency Relief Fund. Second, they spread awareness by posting messages on the marquees of thirty music venues across the U.S. Their messages include reminders of historic concerts that took place at each venue, with the message “#SaveOurStages” and “#2020Wrapped”.
Tori Kelly is ending a busy year by bringing us Christmas cheer! Having just released her EP Solitude in August, Kelly was quick to release her first Christmas album, A Tori Kelly Christmas, less than three months later. Having previously won two Grammy’s in both Gospel categories, Kelly’s voice is well suited for the angelic nature of Christmas music. The record features 13 songs that range from traditional hymns like “Silent Night” to more recent pop culture hits like “This Christmas”, and even includes three original Christmas songs.
Janet Devlin has announced her 2021 tour, marking her first one since 2016. The Northern Irish singer-songwriter will play 16 shows across the UK and Ireland throughout September 2021, and tickets went on sale Monday, November 30. The tour will be in support of her highly anticipated second studio album, Confessional, which came out in June 2020. The album was released in combination with Devlin’s memoir, My Confessional. Together, they tell the story of her ten-year journey with music and mental illness.
