After a day boat trip with her son, Glee star Naya Rivera has been reported missing by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and is presumed dead. Rivera was reportedly 30 minutes late returning the pontoon boat she rented, and boaters reported her four-year old son was sleeping alone on the boat.
The two went out on Lake Piru, a reservoir in Los Padres National Forest. According to CBS news, the pontoon boat was scheduled to return around 4 PM, but missed the deadline. It was around this time where boaters found Rivera’s son, Josey, alone, and alerted authorities.
A statement was released from the Ventura Sheriff Department via twitter, “The missing person at Lake Piru has been identified as Naya Rivera, 33, of Los Angeles. SAR operation will continue at first light. @VCAirUnit @fillmoresheriff @Cal_OES.”

Unfortunately, Ventura Sherriff Department has released a statement that their rescue mission have transitioned into a recovery operation, according to Fox News.
Naya Rivera appeared in 116 episodes of the hit TV show Glee, portraying Santana Lopez, the sassy cheerleader who brought the occasional insult. Her credits begin as early as 1991 when she appeared in The Royal Family, and Family Matters in 1992.
The news of Rivera’s disappearance has stirred support from co-stars and celebrities, with messages of hope being posted by Demi Lovato, Harry Shum, Jr., and Heather Morris, who played her love interest Brittany S.
