The Boomers have received a lot of hate recently, but now Gen Z is ready to help them find love!
Earlier this year the Bachelor franchise put out feelers in terms of an open casting call to gauge interest in a senior citizen’s Bachelor season. The response was overwhelming, and ABC is “confident” that this type of season will happen in the future.
“Some of the casting interviews we got, they were just so touching. It’s such a different way of doing The Bachelor because these people are just at a totally different place in their lives. There is an interesting thing about people who have hit the other end of the spectrum, who’ve lived their lives, they’ve raised their kids, some have been widowed or divorced and maybe some have never been in love. We thought that would be an interesting dynamic through the Bachelor prism.” says Rob Mills, ABC’s unscripted programming head.
If this idea moves forward as planned, the Boomer version of the Bachelor would remain very close to the original set up of the show. A few aspects may need to be understandably changed, such as Hometown visits, but overall it will remain similar. Here’s to hoping the Boomers find love in a hopeless place!
