Ever wonder what superheroes get up to during their downtime? Apparently, not much. This highly amusing Thor mockumentary starring Chris Hemsworth shows what Thor was doing while Captain America: Civil War was going on.
Primarily, lounging around in board shorts with his very average roommate, Daryl Jacobson, in a small apartment in Australia.
The video shows him trying to reach out to Tony Stark and Steve Rogers via “electronic letter” to see if he might help with their little conflict, but both Avengers seem to be ignoring him.
According to Slash Film, the highlights are “seeing Thor make an appearance in an elementary school class, testing them on their knowledge of The Avengers and calling Vision a ‘purple weirdo,’” and “the elaborate chart that Thor has in his bedroom (where he has a tiny bed for Mjolnir) showing that he’s trying to figure out as much as he can about Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet.”
The mockumentary was directed by Thor: Ragnarok director, Taika Waititi, and was first shown at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con.
“For Waititi, the mockumentary follows his work on What We Do in the Shadows — the 2015 vampire-focused satire — and this year’s adventure comedy Hunt for the Wilderpeople” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Will this spark a series of mockumentaries showing superheroes during their in-between time? We hope so.
