Fans of Harry Potter rejoice! J.K. Rowling may have bid farewell to everyone’s favorite wizard with the release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, but there’s still a lot to look forward to.
Sarah Begley from Time magazine reported, “…in November, [Rowling] will see the release of the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, for which she wrote the screenplay. (That story, too, will be published in book form.)
While Rowling said Cursed Child was the last story we’d get about Harry on Saturday, she also hinted in an interview over weekend that Fantastic Beasts would have more overlap with the Harry stories than fans realize.
Asked by BBC journalist Lizo Mzimba whether Harry’s story would continue, she said, “Well it is, because of course I’m doing Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”
The journalist asked her to clarify whether the stories just shared the Wizarding World setting or were the two tales actually connected. Rowling said, ‘It’s more preview-y I think than people realize.’“

The story focuses on Newt Scamander in 1920’s America. Speculation has already run rampant as to which of the older characters from Harry Potter may appear.
As if that’s not enough excitement, Leo Barraclough posted in Variety this morning, “Warner Bros. Pictures confirmed Wednesday that the second movie in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series is in the works, with J.K. Rowling writing the script. It is slated for worldwide release on Nov. 16, 2018.”
