Even though the Parenthood series finale seemed to wrap everything up in a cozy, heartwarming bow, there is a possibility we haven’t seen the end of the Braverman clan.
Series creator Jason Katims tells TV Line, “There’s nothing happening right now, but when the time is right I would love to revisit it.” He reveals that he’s been “taking notes” on Netflix’s revival of Gilmore Girls because he “…was thinking that might happen [with Parenthood] down the road a few years.”
Because the series concluded with flash forwards for each of the family units, they might have to wait a while before they could pick up the story again.
“It would start at the moment when I feel like I have a story to tell,” Katims says. “But the whole thing about Parenthood is the kids get a little older and their lives change and then there’s more story to tell. I feel like that will happen at some point. And then it will be a question of, logistically, can we get the actors [back together] at the same time? And then we have to [find an outlet] that wants to [air] it.”
Relevant magazine shares that Lauren Graham, star of both Parenthood and Gilmore Girls, is also rooting for a revival. “Referencing both Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life (Netflix’s revival of the show) and her upcoming memoir Talking As Fast As I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls, and Everything in Between, she tweets:

Only time will tell if a Parenthood continuation will pan out, but if Gilmore Girls can be successfully revisited after a nine-year absence, it’s possible.
