Taylor Swift Donates $1 Million to Aid Louisiana Flood Victims

    By The Editors | Culture | Comments are Closed | 19 August, 2016 | 0

The devastating flood in Louisiana has claimed 11 lives and damaged over 40,000 homes. 60,000 people and counting have requested aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Many celebrities are contributing to the relief fund, but Taylor Swift holds the people of Louisiana in a special place in her heart, pledging $1 million towards their relief.

“We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home. The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking,” the pop icon told Associated Press.

“I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time.”

In addition to Taylor Swift, Complex reported that Lady Gaga is contributing to the relief fund and encouraging her fans to do so as well.

My thoughts and prayers to all of our loved ones in Louisiana suffering through the flood. My family & I are donating to relief efforts.

What is the nature of occult’s influence on rock and roll? According to the book Season of the Witch: How the Occult Saved Rock and Roll by Peter Berbegal, the occult expanded the language and sound of rock and roll, and was more about theater and fun than the diabolical. It’s a good argument, although not entirely convincing.
