Mariah Carey Recruits Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson for Christmas Video

    By Chloe Paglia | Music, Pop | Comments are Closed | 15 December, 2020 | 12

Mariah Carey has been surprising fans with gifts all year long, but her most recent present might be the best one yet. On December 4th, Carey released a new video for an updated version of her song “Oh Santa!” featuring fellow female vocalist icons, Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson.

The song was originally on Carey’s 2010 Christmas album Merry Christmas II You. The new video features the three leading ladies in glamorous holiday dresses complete with glitter, velvet and fur. As they sing and harmonize on stage, they’re surrounded by dancing elves. If you look closely you’ll spot cameos from Tiffany Haddish, Billy Eichner, Snoop Dogg, and more.

The video is currently trending at #39 on YouTube, fans voted it their favorite new music release of the week on Billboard, and it rose to the #2 spot on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart. And don’t worry – the queen of Christmas holds the #1 spot as well, with “All I Want For Christmas Is You” of course.

The video is a part of “Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special”, out now on Apple+. The streaming platform described the special like this: “Faced with a holiday cheer crisis, the North Pole knows there’s only one person who can save the day: Santa’s great friend, Mariah Carey. Combining musical performances, dynamic dancing, and groundbreaking animation, the undisputed Queen of Christmas jumps into action to create a holiday spectacular to make the whole world merry.
