‘Is Genesis History?’ a surprise at No. 3 in ticket sales

    By Michael Foust | Family Friendly | Comments are Closed | 22 February, 2017 | 0

A science-themed documentary about the Genesis creation account jumped into the Top 3 in nationwide ticket sales Tuesday, powered by group sales and proving once again the strength of the Christian community at the box office.

Is Genesis History? rose to No. 3 at MovieTickets.com, trailing The Lego Batman Movie and Fifty Shades Darker but topping fourth-place John Wick Chapter 2 and fifth-place The Great Wall.

Is Genesis History? is scheduled to be in theaters for one night only on Thursday. Although its budget has not been released, it no doubt is far less than that of John Wick ($40 million) or The Great Wall ($150 million).

Is Genesis History? explores the scientific evidence for a literal six-day creation, Adam and Eve, and biblical flood. The documentary is hosted by Del Tackett, who developed and hosted Focus on the Family’s DVD-based Truth Project curriculum (2007).
