“Truth” and Love for Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton

    By The Editors | Music | Comments are Closed | 4 August, 2016 | 0

Blake Shelton surprised an ecstatic audience last night during Gwen Stefani’s “Truth” performance at DTE Energy Music Theatre.

Detroit News reporter, Adam Graham, wrote, “Shelton hit the stage and joined Stefani to sing “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” the pair’s duet from Shelton’s latest album, If I’m Honest, about an hour into the show.

As the crowd lit up, the two serenaded each other as if they were alone, letting the love song carry them away.

At the song’s close, Stefani threw her arms around Shelton and knocked him a kiss on the cheek.

Even with Shelton’s cameo, Stefani was always in charge on Tuesday. She powered through a 26-song, 110-minute concert.

The 46-year-old told the story of her life in music, growing up from punk rocker and ska scenester with No Doubt to pop princess and hip-hop cheerleader. Meanwhile the material from her latest album, March’s “This Is What the Truth Feels Like,” openly dealt with the breakup of her 13-year marriage to Bush singer Gavin Rossdale and her new relationship with Shelton.

Here’s what a few fans had to say:

    Had a great time. Wish it didn’t have to end. @gwenstefani @TheRealEve @blakeshelton #ThisIsWhatTheTruthFeelsLikeTOUR

    Insiders’ Dish

Stefanie and Shelton’s relationship has been a popular topic across entertainment media. Just this morning, People posted an article speculating about a possible engagement. According to Melody Chiu, “Since they began dating last fall, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been inseparable, but could wedding bells be ringing soon for the cute couple?

‘They are not engaged yet,’ says a source close to Stefani tells PEOPLE. “Everyone is expecting it to happen at some point, though.”

Currently traveling around the country for her tour, “it seems the timing [for an engagement] just hasn’t been right,” adds the source. “But Gwen is very, very happy with Blake. She always acts giddy when she talks about Blake.”

Echoes another insider close to the couple: “There are no immediate plans for their future, but it’s a serious relationship.”

When the couple finally announces their engagement, there’s no doubt it will be sweet music to their fans’ ears.
