If someone told you to name an entertainer off the top of your head, who comes to mind? Michael Jackson? Usher? Well soon you will be thinking of newcomer Uché! Known for his energetic stage presence and fiery personality, Uché is taking the music world by storm.
Uché is a Nigerian – American singer who grew up in Houston, Texas. Having spent summers in Nigeria, Uché refined his dancing skills as a child and began singing in choirs in high school. Though never the one to blend into the crowd, Uché really began to thrive when he stepped out on his own as a solo artist in 2014.
This multi-talented artist sings, dances, acts, and is an all-around dynamic performer. His musical style is reminiscent of Prince and David Bowie, with his sound being a mix of funk, pop, and dance.
He has opened for rapper “B.O.B” as well as pop star Demi Lovato, and most recently he was a top ten finalist on American Idol. Grammy-award winning music legend and American Idol judge Lionel Richie says of Uché’s performances “Uché gives us the standing ovation every night… he’s a performer and he knows how to entertain.”
