The time of year when our favorite artists release festive holiday music has officially arrived! This year, we’re happy to announce that Grammy-nominated artist Tori Amos is among them.
The singer-songwriter-pianist announced her new holiday EP “Christmastide” this week, along with the track list and album art. The EP will be released on December 4, featuring four original songs titled “Christmastide”, “Circle of Seasons”, “Holly”, and “Better Angels”. It is Amos’ first time releasing new music since her 2017 album, Native Invader. Amos told her Twitter followers that she was excited to work with past collaborators Matt Chamberlain and Jon Evans again, and that some limited edition signed vinyl copies are available for preorder.
In a more detailed statement about the release, she said this: “With Christmastide it was important to be positive and to try and lift people’s spirits. It’s a time of year that should be joyful with family and friends but also can sadly be a very lonely place for some. Many families will be unable to be together this year because of the Pandemic as well as many that are also dealing with the aftermath of a long and bitter U.S. Election. I hope these songs contained in this beautiful package can be a small treat to help along the way. We will get through these tough times together with strength in unity and hope.”
You can preorder the album here, or listen to it digitally on December 4.
