Ozzy Osbourne’s wife, Sharon, revealed that the legendary Prince of Darkness has rebooked his farewell tour for 2022, after plans for a 2020 run were scrapped earlier this year.
The iconic Black Sabbath frontman has been plagued by health issues as of late, including his struggle with Parkinson’s Disease, and cancelled a planned European tour to undergo treatment for his issues. That was prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, which ultimately further pushed rescheduling efforts.
Sharon revealed that the dates, which would conclude the rocker’s No More Tours II tour that began in 2017, were tough to nail down but have finally been rebooked.
“Everybody’s booking their tours again for like 2022, and to find availabilities right now, it’s crazy,” she said in an interview. “Agents and facilities are going nuts, trying to get everybody back. It will be exciting. I think it will be a very exciting time when bands do go back and it’ll be joyous.”
“Ozzy’s tour has been rebooked. The British tour, he’ll be back in ’22. You know, we just carry on as normal. We’ve been doing loads of TV shows here and you’ve got to just keep going until Ozzy can go back live,” she confirmed.
Osbourne also revealed that her husband was working on a new album, as well as a biopic which he would be doing the music for.
“We’re going to do a movie of Ozzy’s life story and he’s got to do the soundtrack to that… so I’ll keep him busy, let’s put it that way!” she said.
The couple’s son, Jack, first confirmed the plans for a biopic earlier this year. Rock biopics have become increasingly popular in recent years thanks to films about Queen and Elton John that were massively successful at the box office and with critics.
“There is absolutely things in motion right now to make that a reality,” Jack Osbourne said at the time. “I think in the next few months, you’ll probably see something coming up about it. But we haven’t landed [at a studio] yet. So, fingers crossed.”
The film, Jack said, would be centered around his parents’ relationship—which has stood the test of time and has seen Sharon emerge as a major success story in the world of rock and roll managers.
