Amistat is an acoustic duo composed of twin brothers, Josef and Jan Prasil. Born in Germany, then raised in Italy, they relocated to Australia in 2013 to pursue music. With a special bond that only twins have, Amistat’s music is heartbreakingly honest and rings with a special purity. Their layered harmonies make their songs intimate, like they’re sharing their deepest secrets and thoughts with you, and only you.
In 2017, Amistat released their debut album, “Parley,” which led to a number of Australian and European tour dates. They’ve also performed at some of Australia’s best festivals, including Woodford Folk Festival, National Folk Festival, Fairbridge and Nannup. They won the Marton Guitar Emerging Artist of the Year 2018 Award at the Port Fairy Folk Festival 2018.
The band says that “their authentic lyrics speak of what they have learnt to be true in life and love, sharing their stories and songs about these lessons most of which they wrote while on the road.” Their tones and melodies are in the same vein as Kodaline, Angus & Julia Stone, and early Mumford & Sons. The band is taking Australia’s music scene by storm.
Amistat graced the Scenes Live Sessions last year, and we consider this group one of the best we’ve ever had! Enjoy their soft, harmonic vocals and authentic storytelling below. And when you want to hear their acoustic set again and again, download their live session here.
