Southern Halo is a sister duo that combines sweet, close harmonies with fiery country melodies and a little bit of rock n’ roll. Try not to get up and dance – we dare you. 

Hailing from Mississippi, Nata Morris (principal songwriter, guitarist, and lead vocalist) and Tinka (vocals and drums) have been performing together since their childhood. In their teen years, they hit the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville to compete in the Texaco Country Showdown. The winners of multiple regional and local talent contests, they released their first pop-country album in 2014. 

Southern Halo originally consisted of a trio, with the youngest Morris sister, who is now pursuing academics.  

After the sisters’ first album together, Nata and Tinka assembled a full band to support their sound and hit the road, touring throughout the country. They have opened for such country stars as Maren Morris, Brantley Gilbert, and Randy Houser. Their musical excellence has been recognized in Billboard, and by iHeart radio and Radio Disney Country. They have played at CMA Fest, the Bluebird Cafe, and multiple Grammy Museums! 

“We were so young when we started and we went through a lot to figure out who we are today,” says drummer Tinka. “But that’s the best part of the music industry — you never stop growing and now that we’re in our 20’s, we’re excited for this year.”

A big influence in this dynamic shift is producer Cliff Downs. Downs, who has worked with Garth Brooks, Faith Hill, and Foreigner, encouraged the duo to make the music they want to make.

Southern Halo is upping the ante next year, with the release of their first album as a duo. They’re bringing on new band members for a bigger, more explosive show (pending COVID, of course) and revamping their image for a new, edgier Southern Halo sound.
