SCENES Media’s Editorial Staff has sifted through the incredible wealth of talent we have been excited about this past year in our Live Sessions. With the depth and breadth of talent, finding our favorites was very difficult… but based on musical quality; viewership response; and presentation of and by the artist, we sorted out some of our favorites. #5 was Eddie Berman. The #4 spot went to The West Coast Feed. #3 went to our favorite drummer Rick Feds, and #2 had to be the unforgettable TRALA.
And our #1 favorite SCENES Live Session goes to the The Young Fables, the Maryville, Tennessee band featuring the simpatico poets, Laurel Wright and Wesley Lunsford. The way that this duo captured our hearts with their modern take on classic country sounds makes it no wonder that Keith Urban said that they “had me immediately.” They caught the attention of Sheryl Crow who lauded Laurel Wright as, “as good as any country singer out there.” Rolling Stone weighed in, describing Wright’s and Lunsford’s music is “simple and heartbreakingly direct.”
The other thing that has made The Young Fables our #1 Live Session of 2018 is the joy that emanates from their songwriting, musical performance and the energized dynamic between Wright and Lunsford. So without further ado, please enjoy this reprisal of these movingly talented musicians.
