In its first week, the Suicide Squad soundtrack sold 128,000 traditional albums and blew the streaming record for a soundtrack through the roof.
According to Billboard, “The album’s streaming equivalent album unit total for the week on the Billboard 200 was nearly 22,000 units, which equates to 32.6 million streams for the album’s tracks. That’s the largest streaming week for a soundtrack album, ever.”
The New York Times reports: “The album, which features tracks by Eminem, Skrillex, Lil Wayne and Twenty One Pilots, and is released by Atlantic, is the first soundtrack to reach No. 1 since ‘Descendents’ a year ago.”
