Since the turn of the century, Athens, Georgia has been a mecca for musical talent. The town that Michael Stipe calls home can also boast about the famous Morton Building, which has hosted performances from legends like Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, and Duke Ellington.
Athens is also home for emerging talent, like the hugely popular AFTM. Before releasing their full-length debut album,“Around For The Moment” in 2019, AFTM was a fixture on the fraternity party circuit. Since then, this funky multi-piece rock band has become famous in the Athens music scenes selling out headline shows at the historic Georgia Theater.
